Just to be sure, you meant:
a ppt created from 3.5.4 LO crashes Powerpoint or a ppt created from Powerpoint crashes 3.5.4 LO?
Could you attach the ppt?

Hello

I can't attach this one for copyright reasons in some material included.
 I can't test other ppts under 3.5.6 as i had a very urgent work to do
on it and had to reverse to 3.5.4 in emergency

summary :

This ppt was created and maintained in lower versions of OO, Lib0 and microsoft word s

for our bug:

I found a crash on open under 3.5.6 (i did not tested it under 3.5.5 not having to open it while i had that version)

When i reversed to 3.5.4 on xp it opened without issue so i kept 3.5.4 on my other computer, aWindows 7 machine and it opens without problem.

I guess it's something on the conversion part. in 3.5.6 or 3.5.5

When you'll have more time, would it be possible to remove copyright parts of the file?
Indeed, we can't do anything without the file except if you're able to compile LO on Windows and get a backtrace with symbols.
(see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Native_Build and http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_backtrace_.28on_WINDOWS.29)

On pc Debian x86-64, with 3.5 sources updated yesterday, last file provided by reporter doesn't open and shows this on console:
Header Identifier  =
Product type       = 0x0
File type          = 0x0
Major version      = 0x0
Minor version      = 0x0
Encryption key     = 0x0
WPSDocument::isFileFormatSupported()
WPSHeader::constructHeader()
WPDocument::isFileFormatSupported()
WPXHeader::constructHeader()
WordPerfect: File magic is not equal to "WPC"!
WP1Heuristics::isWP1FileFormat()
WP1Heuristics, Offset 0x00000000, value 0xd0 ()
WP42Heuristics::isWP42FileFormat()
WP42Heuristics, Offset 0x00000000, value 0xd0

3.6 and master sources updated today opens the file, just noticed this on console:
warn:legacy.tools:4448:1:/home/julien/compile-libreoffice/libo_3_6/sd/source/filter/ppt/pptinanimations.cxx:2288: invalid call to ppt::AnimationImporter::importAudioContainer()!

Just update to "WORKSFORME" since there's no specific fix.
