Thank you for reporting this improvement. Seems valuable to me. Got the same problem with 3.6.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 The width can be changed here: http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sd/source/ui/view/outlview.cxx#120 But the problem is that I can't find a function that can give me the width of the docked-window. I have created a patch that widens the size. But it is still a fixed size. The Web View feature in Writer can expand text in the Window. Maybe this is a way to also implement it in Impress Outline View ? |
Created attachment 66083 [details] Screenshot showing the horizontal constraint on text in Outline View In Outline View in Impress, the text is constrained to a very small width, rather than being allowed to expand to the width of the application window. This makes working with the text awkward, and makes it more difficult to get a sense of the flow of ideas that Outline View should make easy. I have attached a screen shot from a 24" monitor. As you can see, The slide text is constrained to about 1/3 of the available screen space. The text should be allowed to take up as much horizontal space as possible.
