Is it specific to a peculiar document?
If yes ,could you attach it to the bugtracker?
Comment 4 fenglich 2012-09-07 19:44:48 UTC
I can't reproduce it reliably. The crashes has stopped though. All I got is the back traces.

How do you do testing? Do you have a test suite that you baseline against?

I'm on pc Debian x86-64. I've got 3.5, 3.6 and master branch (future 3.7) sources from git that I build with options like debug+symbols to get an useful backtrace when it's possible.
I try to update master branch every day and for 3.5+3.6 I try to be updated every 2 or 3 days max.

So if we don't have a doc to try to reproduce and you don't reproduce anymore, it won't be easy to keep on the investigation.

Perhaps let's try with basics:
- did you install any specific fonts?
- did you install any extensions?
- what was the format of the image?
- how did you generate the doc (from LO only, from a Word conversion)?
- did you try to rename your LO directory profile? (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
Comment 6 fenglich 2012-09-07 20:33:50 UTC
* Yes, I've installed a font on my Mac, but it was not used in any document
* Yes, I've installed some dictionaries
* The file was PNG. I believe I clicked on the image. One of the other crashes occurred while I was not using LibreOffice, IIRC.
* Created from scratch, no template.
* If I find a way to reproduce the crash, I'll try renaming the LO directory profile folder.

Comment 7 Julien Nabet 2012-09-07 21:02:18 UTC
I don't have test suite. I just try to reproduce from information provided in bugtracker.
So if there's a step by step process to follow, I'll try to follow it (by having a brand new LO profile each time).
If there's a file attached to bugtracker, I try it too.

Anyway, LibreOffice has several test suites and devs create new tests with time.

I see :)

If I find steps for reproduction I'll post it.

Keep up the good work :)

fenglish: any update with last LO version 3.6.4 + brand new LO profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)?
