Doc which is not opened correctly.

In the German user mailing list a user (Hermann Merkord, myirishfolks (at) rocketmail.com) posted a problem with opening of a MS-Word text document. He uses LO 3.5.6 under Win XP. I will add this document to this report (“Bad Document.doc”).

The user stated that he could open the document with AOO 3.4.1 and save without changes. But the document size changed, so AOO changed the document. This changed file is opened correctly with LO. Also attached: “Good Document.doc”.

The behaviour differs between different users. I tried to open the bad document with LO 3.6.1.2 (Win 7). It opens, but it is not readable. Screen shot attached: “Shot of Bad Document.png”.

MS word document that does not display correctly in the latest LibreOffice.

I'm seeing the exact same thing in LibreOffice Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) on Windows 7. The document opens just fine in LibreOffice 3.4.6 (Build: 602) on Fedora 16 x84_64. The screen shot shown in the first post in the bug looks exactly like what I get.

Attaching the document in the hope that it'll help.

Daniel

confirmed; I see the same - it is detecting the file type as text and loading it into calc. Kohei - any ideas what is going on there ? I'm suspicious of filter changes there :-)

Checked again with Ver. 3.6.4. "Bad document" is now opened correctly. With 3.6.2 and with 3.6.3 the document is not opened correctly. It seemed that a change from 3.6.3 to 3.6.4 solves the problem.

Thanks. With that info, I'll mark this as resolved.
