Diagram source as calc document

Hi,

if you import (linked OLE Object)more than one diagram of ONE calc file (this file contains more than 60 diagrams for monitoring) into the same writer document, the shown diagrams change after refresh the link or reopen the document.

All diagrams show the same table of the calc document. Thats not useful for monitoring in huge governments.

I have a huge government that is using this feature with word and excel and there it works with more than 60 diagrams from one excel sheet/file.

Attached an example that shows the results.

Thanks
Georg

not fully in that way reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)

Steps done:

1. Double-click on the pie chart and changed it to the bar chart:
One page 1 you had to select it twice with double-click until it is changed
One page 2 it is changed with the first double-click

2. Inserted this once more as an OLE object from the ods file (INSERT -> OBJECT -> OLE OBJECT -> CREATE FROM FILE -> ods file chosen
Now you could change to the bar chart with the first double-click, you had not to do this twice

Please inform if these steps are not correct to reproduce the bug.

Yes, the steps are OK, but now save the document and than reopen it. Confirm the dialog to update the inserted links by clicking OK.

After that, all diagrams on each page of the document show the same sheet/diagram.

Kind regards
Georg

by the way....

You have to add 2 different OLE objects of the same calc file. Each OLE object should show a different diagram.

Now follow the mentioned steps and reopen your writer document.

Georg

Hi Georg,

Worksforme.

OS X 10.9, LO Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 73342dbb82ba074d01962359dac50fb2aa36cbeb
TinderBox: MacOSX-x86@49-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2013-11-22_07:09:14

I changed the ods file to a bar chart instead of pie. Then save.

Double clicking the chart in the monitoring document does update on both pages with a simple double click.

Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest LO release? Currently 4.1.3.2: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/

Could you please attach the document in question? That would help speed up the process of confirming and successively fixing this bug a lot. Thanks :)

Should this be still reproducible for you with the latest LO release please re-open this bug and we’ll go from there.
