I fail to reproduce, tested using Mac OSX 10.9 with LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.1 Build ID: 9ed0c4329cf13f882dab0ee8b9ecd7b05e4aafbb Please retest using a more recent version (www.libreoffice.org). Created attachment 68098 [details] Simple test file Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) - french language In the test file here attached : 1/ select the range G15:K22 2/ Data -> Sort... - Sort criteria key 1 = "Date" - Ascending 3/ clic OK button 4/ Calc freezes In step 2, the option tab must not be selected but the folowing options should be checked : Range contains column labels Include formats Direction : Top to bottom In step 2 if you clic on "options" tab, step 4 leads to no sorting and no freeze.
