@ Alex Thurgood: Hi Alex, you are our “LibO Printing on Mac OS X” expert. Could you please take a look at this report? I know that the first thing to do will be to ask many questions (because much information is missing), but you will probably do this better, because you know better *which* questions to ask about printing issues ;-) Thank you very much! Hello Martin, *, thank you for reporting this bug :) As your bug report is really sparse, would you be so kind to explain it a little bit further? And what do you mean with "libre office is down"? It crashed? And it would be nice, if you could test it again with a newer version of LO than 3.6.2 ... ;) TIA and sorry for the inconvenience Thomas. There is no snapshot...
I can not check this one out as I don't have a Brother laser printer with which to test...
This brand of printer has been known to cause problems for LO in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is the driver and/or the CUPS code that LO uses to interface with the driver that is the problem.
Which driver are you using ?
How is the printer connected ? (USB/network ?)
Alex
More importantly, did it ever work ? I mean, did printing work with an earlier version of LibreOffice for Mac on that same printer ? Does printing work with OpenOffice, or Lotus Symphony, or NeoOffice ? If so, which versions ? Alex The Libre Writer will not connect to my printer. I had to copy and paste into wordpad to be able to print. help needed please Well so far, we've had no answer to my questions in comment 4 or comment 5. I would be of a mind to close this as INVALID. (In reply to comment #6) > The Libre Writer will not connect to my printer. I had to copy and paste > into wordpad to be able to print. help needed please Maureen, I'm sorry that you are having problems with your printer, but your comment doesn't help us get any further : - is it the same printer as the one reported here originally ? If not, then please open a separate new bug report and give details. As you mention Wordpad, then I can only assume that you are on Windows. This present report deals with a problem on Mac OSX connecting to a networked HP OfficeJet 6500. Unless you have the same printer, you are commenting in the wrong place. Alex According to this : http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/msg05188.html printing to a networked HP6500A works. Alex (In reply to comment #9) At least on Linux, as also indicated here : https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/users/2011-June/399646.html so this may well be Mac specific.
