Description Callegar 2012-12-17 16:14:13 UTC
Problem description:

tried to install Lodev from the deb files (deb 64 bit ita), and the application does not even start in ubunut 12.10 (in fact kubuntu).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install the deb files
(here you see the debian menus deb failing if libreoffice is already installed)
2. Start the application from the shell: /opt/lodev4.0/program/soffice

Current behavior:

At the first invocation, you see the libreoffice logo, with the beta sign and a progress bar. When the preogress bar finishes, the logo disappears and that is all.
At the second invocation you see the libreoffice logo rapidly flashing and that is all.

Expected behavior:

The application starts and is usable
Operating System: Ubuntu
Last worked in: 3.6.4.3 release

Actually, it starts by specifying --impress, --writer, etc.

Startup menu seems to be broken.
Autodetection of application to start from file passed on the command line seems to be broken too.

can you post the full command to start LODEV with e.g. --impress? thanks tom

Do you have libbonobo installed? It is needed at least for lo-dev4-0-beta1. I'm not sure for beta2 as they wanted to remove it but I don't know if they did.

Please let us know the result.

Works fine with 4.0 RC 1
