Such a Dialog only exists for Writer, so it's a Writer UI issue The correct name is "Character" Dialog. That never worked different, and the Character dialog is exactly that what is expected to appear, because there you can select the language for a selection or a paragraph. So this is not a bug. Hmm... I now see the Character dialog's "Language" drop-down menu. I must say that this is rather confusing - why would Language be placed under the Font tab? I would still consider this a "bug", though placed under the category of "Feature Request" or something similar. I believe a separate dialog, with an expanded list, would be better and more user-friendly, since the user is looking to change the language for spell-checking, not the font. This is yet another reason why I'm hoping you guys revamp the GUI for the better. :) (If you want step-by-step, this is a good step!) (In reply to comment #2) Of course we can think about a modification. Best always is if such an Idea has a more general background than only change a single dialog. You should discuss your ideas on <libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org> or <design@global.libreoffice.org>, and may be that discussion brings up a more intuitive solution. Ah, so suggestions should go there instead. Thanks for letting me know! I will certainly propose my ideas over there. |
