I was surprised that I could not find an existing bug entry for this in LibreOffice bug tracker:

Problem: In Writer, a paragraph cannot be longer than 65534 characters. This is an internal limitation and apparently not yet solved.

Particularly lawyers and other law persons cannot use LibreOffice Writer for this reason.

How to reproduce:
Please have a look at the attachment. After the 65534th character, you cannot add any more character.
