In steps 5 and 6 substitute therelevant styles dialogue name. Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 9601a571d42b0199bdccf2256fc8be82e14af8a) Date: Mon Feb 18 23:22:17 2013 +0100 Bodhi Linux 2.2 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ New (confirmed) Trivial (has no real impact on being able to make professional quality work, very specific steps to repeat that are unlikely to be repeated by many) Lowest (default, no need to change this) This might be two bugs: 1. Cancel should result in deletion of new style 2. Once you delete a style, if you create another one with same name, you have to delete it twice for the delete to actually occur. Develop may ask you to split this into two bug reports but for now should be okay. I should have said: As a member of the docs team working on the guides, this came to light as I was repeatedly going into the Styles and Formatting window to check settings, then cancelling out of the dialogue before creating a style. It was then i noticed that I had a build-up of 'Untitled' styles. I agree a normal user would probably not see this effect This is still apparent in release 4.2.3.1 out of interest. Could not reproduce. Windows Vista 64 Version: 4.4.3.2 Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16 In 4.2.8.2 and 4.3.6.2 it no longer happens in Paragraph Styles. Changed to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. |
Problem description: Creating a new style in the Styles and Formatting dialogue causes unwanted results. Steps to reproduce: Open a new document. 1. ....Open the Styles and Formatting dialogue (F11). 2. ....Select Paragraph Styles. 3. ....Right-click anywhere in the list with the All styles filter selected. 4. In the context menu, select NEW. 5. A new entry appears in the list, 'Untitled1'. The Paragraph Styles dialogue opens. 6. In the Paragraph Styles dialogue , click 'Cancel' to close the dialogue. 7. 'Untitled1' remains in the list. It should not. 8. Right-click on 'Untitled1' and select 'Delete' from the context menu. Confirm deletion wanted. 9. 'Untitled1' is deleted. 10. Repeat steps 3 to 6. 'Untitled1' remains in the list as at step 7. 11. Repeat step 8. 12. 'Untitled1' is NOT deleted. 13. Repeat step 8. 14. 'Untitled1' IS deleted. This behaviour is the same when selecting Frame Styles When selecting List styles, the behaviour is the same as steps 3 to 9. Selecting Character Styles, or selecting Page Styles returns correct behaviour. That is to say, when 'Cancel' is selected in the dialogue, 'Untitled1' is removed from the list.
