Hi Jens,

Thanks for reporting!

At first, is this bug still reproducible using LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 (download here: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/)? If yes: is is possible to attach the document to this bug report so we try to reproduce this behavior?

Kind regards,
Joren

Hi Joren,

I have downloaded and installed pre-release version 4.0.2.2 and I can confirm the bug is reproducible.
I forgot to advice before, the file is normally looked with a password. So I have removed the password protection but the result was similar to the behavior before.
I could upload the file but don't wanna do it on a public website.

Regards,
Jens

Sorry I come back here that late.

I ran some tests now, and I can not reproduce this behavior. I altered the file a bit using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2, saved it and reopened it without a problem using LibreOffice 3.6.5.2. Then I redownload the attachement, did a file -> save as ODS using 4.0.2.2, and reopened again using 3.6.5.2 ... again without that warning.

@Jens: is it possible for you to send also a file which you can reproduce this behavior with (so I can compare the file you send a couple a days ago, with a file you have problems with).

Thanks in advance,
Joren

Comment 10 Jens 2013-04-06 10:03:49 UTC
Hi Joren,

after I saw the result of your investigations I am a bit confused.
So i have taken another file which I normally open/save by using either version 3 of Libre- or NeoOffice, open it with LibreOffice 4.0.1 and save it by using the same password I told you two days earlier (originally this file is NOT password protected).
Afterwards I have tried to open this file with all PC's in my household but the result was ALWAYS the same. Pls refer to the attached screenshots!

1. MacBookPro; OSX 10.6.8 ; NeoOffice 3.1.2 ; German
2. Sony Vaio; Win7; LibreOffice 3.4 ; English OS, German OfficeSuit
3. HP ; Win7 ; LibreOffice 3.4 ; English OS, English OfficeSuit
4. Lenovo Thinkpad ; Win XP ; OO 2.3 ; German

I hope this is enough testing now from my side to proof there is a bug in the software.

BR,
Jens

Sorry it took quite long I retested this issue.

I retested this using Mac OSX 10.8.3.

1. Opened the file in LibreOffice 4.0.2.2
2. Resaved it
3. Opened the file again in LibreOffice 3.6.4.2

Behavior: no problem.

Seems like only 3.4 versions (or older) are affected? I can't test this, unless there is some 3.4 download file around to install it on Mac OSX (I found some 3.4 installers, but not for Mac).

Therefore I need to leave this one as UNCONFIRMED.

Kind regards,
Joren

Well, one time you are removing the password protection, other time you are enabling it.
Could you please try to create simple reproducible test case with or without password protection? Also please be advised that LibreOffice > 3.5 uses different encryption algorithm https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/3.5#Different_Encryption_Algorithm.
