Description Jiri Wichern 2013-04-09 17:07:40 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a document in Word Perfect (my version is WP9).
2. Add a few plain text sentences.
3. Make a comment within the text.
4. Save the document (this will be our control document).
5. Select a part of the text surrounding the comment on both sides, preferably.
6. Make a comment out of it, using the comment menu function. The original comment is now a comment within a comment: Recursion (You can go deeper if you want).
7. Save the document under a new name (this will be the target document).

Current behavior:

When opening the control document within Libre Office, everything is fine. When opening the target document, the general Input/Output error appears and Libre Office returns to the previous screen. If there was no previous screen (for example, Libre Office is openend by targeting the .wpd target file in a file manager), Libre Office exits completely.

Expected behavior:

Libre Office opens the target file and shows all comments, including comment recursion.

Attached:

2 documents in .zip. test_comments_1.wpd: control document. test_comments_2.wpd: target document.

Versions affected:

At least versions 3.6 through 4.0.2.2 (latest release).
Operating System: Windows (other)
Version: 4.0.2.2 release

Thanks for reporting!

I can not reproduce this general Input/Output error using Windows 8 and Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 087a610fcd5c0c354a9ed6bfccd3451b667d62a3
TinderBox: Win-x86@6-debug, Branch:master, Time: 2013-08-04_21:41:24

Also not using Version: 4.1.0.4 Build ID: 89ea49ddacd9aa532507cbf852f2bb22b1ace28

@Bug reporter: you mind testing using 4.1.0 which you can download here: http://www.libreoffice.org/download (btw, just for testing purpose, not to use for edit important documents). This version might contain still some bugs which can cause damage to your (important) documents.

Kind regards,
Joren
