Simply do not understand much of the conversations, relating to the listed duplicates, so apologise if this is, in fact, a duplicate.

I have not had a similar problem in previous versions - mine is Version 3.6.5.2 (Build ID: 5b93205)

My conditional formatting problems seem to be two-fold.

1) When 'deleting content' (text only) from cells containing conditional formatting this also is removed.

2) When copying a cell with conditional formatting to a range of other cells, the conditional formatting appears or doesn't appear, apparently randomly, in the target cells - seemingly never the same twice.

I would have expected:

1) ONLY the text content to be removed.

2) The conditional formatting to be copied to ALL cells with adjustments to the relative addressing.

Same problem. If I copy cells in same sheet or from another sheet the conditional formatting is not coming along sometimes, at other times is does come along. Can't figure out condition that it works correctly, but suspect it is related to the fact that spreadsheet is old and if conditional formats were from old parts of spreadsheet they copy and paste correctly, but not certain hard to reproduce. I'm running 4.0.2.2 in Windows.

Please attach sample spreadsheet & instructions to see the problem.

As far as I know Conditional Formatting doesn't belong to cell(s), but to spreadsheet (file).

Sorry I'm wrong :) Please forget that comment

Could you retest using latest stable release (3.6.6 or 4.0.3) ?
Seems to be fixed

Please see Bug 59288 whether it's a duplicate to that bug
