Description gilles.moyse 2013-06-04 09:32:20 UTC
If I enter a simple formula, like =SOMME(E1:E15), LibreOffice automatically changes it into =SOMME;(E1:E15), can not understand it and the return an Err: 508.

I'm running a LibreOffice 3.5 based on OpenOffice.org 350m1(Build:2).

As you may have noticed, I'm running LibreOffice in French.
I think the problem happened when I switched it to French (Switerland), in order to have dots (.) in place of commas (,) for decimal separator (I was publishing an article and wanted to have numbers formatted like 123.456 instead of 123,456). To switch to French (Switerland), I went into Tools > Options > Linguistic parameters > Language > Linguistic environment.

After that, I came back to French (France), and the problem appeared. I tried to go back to French (Switerland), but the problem was still there.

I noticed this problem dos not occur with LibreOffice 4.0 on Windows with the same files.

On my side, in order to be able to work back on LibreOffice, I'm going to ask my admins to upgrade the version.

Thanks in advance !

Gilles

May well be the reason. You coudl try how it works with a fresh user profile.
   (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile )

Also, since there are more ways to set the locale of a file etc. maybe you can find a solution that is less destructive? There are good user suport forums etc.

Pls let us know how it goes. Because of the very special situation, I doubt that anything can be done in the code (reasonably) to solve this.
So I would like to close as Invalid or NotABug or so..

thanks, Cor

I've upgraded to LibreOffice 4.0 and the problem is fixed. So yes, I think we can ignore this report.

Thanks for you quick reply !(In reply to comment #1)

I face the same situation.
I renamed profile but same situation at restart.
According to "soluton" switch to 4.0", I've downloaded container, removed 3.5 and starteddpkg -i *.deb but I've a size problem on /opt directory, that prevent me to install 4.0
As a results, I can't confirm it is solved with 4.0 and I've no more LibreOffice on my Debian machine :-(
