Description liboff12346 2013-06-17 16:42:56 UTC
This file

http://www.bp.com/content/dam/bp/excel/Statistical-Review/statistical_review_of_world_energy_2013_workbook.xlsx

consists of 56 sheets, most of which have window/freeze set to retain first column and first rows as headers when opened in Excel, but which open with split windows and bizarre presentation when the cursor is in the leftmost column.

Part of the effect is that the tabs for the different sheets are all hidden as are the tab navigation arrows, with the slider bar for access to different columns occupying the full screen width.

The letters indicating each column, and the row numbers are obliterated by moving the cell cursor through the first column or first row respectively.

I can not see the issue with:
Win7x64 Ultimate
LibreOffice Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2)
Comment 2 liboff12346 2013-06-17 23:54:08 UTC
You are correct: the issue arises after saving as .ods in LO and re-opening.

Also, open the original file in Excel, and then save as .xls 97-03 results in window freezes being lost, and likewise if saved from Excel to .ods - when most of the sheet tabs are also hidden.

I can't also reproduce following this bug description using LO 4.0.5.1 (Win7 32bit).

Comment 2 is another issue, perhaps Bug 49742 if you meant xls filesave problem within LO. Bug 40070 if you meant xlsx.
