Hi walterh6, thanks for reporting, I can not reproduce with: Win7x64 Ultimate LibreOffice Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2) Please can you attach a sample file?. Hi Mario, It may be so that the bug has been corrected in your version, I only hope so. I will upload a file and a screenshot of how it looks on my end. Wolter Created attachment 81088 [details]

At the top you will find a table cell with text in it with manual hyphens within; below the cell, a screenshot of how it looks on my end.

Wolter, seems that the second hard hyphen it is not, deleting it and reinserting a new hard hyphen Ctrl- works fine.
No it still doesn't work on my end. It must be that in your version is fixed and not in mine. I'm going to try and update my version just to settle this. Now I have the new version and its weird because manual hyphenation does not seem to be followed in single long words, but I can write normal text in a narrow cell and manual hyphenation works on words here and there. The new attachment can best express what I mean. Created attachment 81142 [details]
A newer, more comprehensible example.
So I guess manual hyphenation in tables does work, although there is room for improvement. I'm going to mark this as invalid and create a new one with the specific concern as an enhancement. Manual hyphenation does not work in a table cell. Steps to reproduce: 1. Draw a table. 2. Write in a cell in the table a word long enough to need text wrapping in the cell. 3. Insert a manual hyphen at any point you want the word to be split and wrapped. Currently, the manual hyphen is inserted but apparently ignored. It is expected that the manual hyphen works as well in a table cell as it does in the page border. Operating System: All Version: 4.0.3.3 release
