biff2 file asss.xls and same file converted asss.xlsx

Problem description: 
unable to open biff2 file (attached)
Steps to reproduce:
1. open attached file (asss.xls);
2. the asss.xlsx file converted by http://www.zamzar.com/ is open fine by libreoffice;
3. ....

Appears like a regression since 2.1.

I just tried version 4.1.1.2 which opens perfectly BIFF2 files ...

I tried the file attached to bug 68019 and it opened.  The dates were shown as integers but formatting the column changed them back to dates.
