basically you propose to change the default location of the Fontwork item. I change version field to 3.3.0 since the actual location has always been like this in any LibO release. Yes I propose a change of the default location. Currently one needs to open the Drawing Toolbar to be able to insert a Fontwork element. I regard it as too complicated for person not so experienced with Writer, etc to get the idea to look into the Drawing Toolbar. Thus it should be made possible to insert a Fontwork by default from the Insert menu. That a Fontwor tool icon is additionally available in the Drawing toolbar is good, as well as it is necessary to customize toolbars and place the Fontwork icon at any toolbar. I suggest to subscribe to the UX-advise mailing list and discuss this feature request. http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise Sounds good, "Fontwork" can be added to Insert-Picture submenu, like in msword. @Ivan are you taking this? Ivan Timofeev committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=f2bfb0d4a4b206852c811b18b25ca508a40aee7f fdo#68252: Add FONTWORK into the INSERT menu The patch should be included in the daily builds available at http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More information about daily builds can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback. Fixed. Hmm, now it is Insert->Picture->Fontwork Gallery... which sounds like it inserts a gallery. :) Probably better to rename it to just "Fontwork..." @Ivan, thanks for your commitment!!! When under INSERT menu, you are right, FONTWORK only would be the better term. |
