Attachments: If this is _made_ in 4.2 - the right bracket is not showing
odt (source) example
this is exported (doc) file
Showing frames in odt file (top), and frames in doc file (bottom)

Description Krunoslav Šebetić 2013-08-19 19:14:10 UTC
There is a problem with exporting odt to doc.

Steps:

Insert frame, anchor it to paragraph text area, align it most right, then insert text to frame (e.g. [02:05]) and apply a custom style with text aligned right - when odt is exported as doc every thing is just fine but right bracket of "[02:05]" is not showing. Export cause lose of "]" character.

please attach a test .odt document so it will be easier to reproduce your bug.

This document is made in 4.0.5 because I don't have 4.2 installed anymore, would be best if the whole example file is recreated in 4.2 then exported to doc.

I'll test with 4.2 master in the next days.
regarding your test file, all right brackets disappear or just some of them?
Comment 5 Krunoslav Šebetić 2013-08-31 09:10:43 UTC
All right brackets in those right aligned frames. In original document I have twenty or thirty right aligned frames with those brackets - they all disappeared (just the "]" character).

I didn't try but wonder would everything went just fine if leave some space between frame and right page margin...
Comment 6 tommy27 2013-08-31 13:38:40 UTC
no problem with Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 94730f359023a3e90fd6d5239a12a150f41f4dd2
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-08-31_03:30:47

two possible explanations:
1- the test file made on 4.0.5 is not representative
2- the issue has been fixed meanwhile
Comment 7 tommy27 2013-10-06 21:20:07 UTC
I change status to NEEDINFO.

do you still reproduce the described issue on recent 4.2 master builds?
Comment 8 Krunoslav Šebetić 2013-10-07 11:43:34 UTC
I don't have LO 4.2 installed at the moment (but I will clone it from git later this day).

When odt file is exported to doc simbol "]" _is_ there (I provided wrong information when reported bug), but frames changes there size automatically. After export frames get smaller so hiding last character.

It's not a big deal, really, but it's pain to resize 50 (or more) of these frames.

I attached odt and doc example.

Thanks,

Kruno

this is exported (doc) file

This is exported doc file - and when I open this doc file with LO (4.0.5) frames get smaller just enough to hide last character and needs to be resized manually.

try upgrading to 4.1.3 and tell us if issue is still there

Bug still persist on Debian Wheezy with Libreoffice 4.2.5.2

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open atachment "If this is made in 4.2 - the right bracket is not showing" in LibreOffice
2. See frames on the right (shows all the content)
3. Now save that file as doc
4. Open that doc file with LibreOffice 4.2 (see how frames shrinked)

Annoying when there is a lot of them.

See atachment from today for clarification.

Hope I did better job this time :)

Changed title because it was misleading.
Comment 17 Krunoslav Šebetić 2014-07-08 19:10:52 UTC
Set back to resolved, bug appears in LO 4.2 only with doc file created with earlier versions of LibreOffice (4.1).

If file created with LO 4.2 and opend with LO 4.2 everything works fine.
