Description Tim Simpson 2013-08-21 20:17:03 UTC
I have used the Libre Office Text for a couple of months now and welcome it over MS Office 2010 which has too many 'bells & whistles'. In general the Libre performs well until it comes to 'Saving' the text. Invariably I receive the 'Not responding' advice which takes a number of seconds to clear [with repeated attempts] before the green trace starts across the task bar [bottom]. I have downloaded the software 3 times which includes updates but it makes no difference. When recovering the document from the Folder,I am given the Recovery dialogue box which is usually successful but not every time i.e. there is nothing saved on the document. Windows always comes in attempting to resolve the difficulty. My Operating System is Windows 7 Home Edition, 64. Regards, Tim Simpson

Ok. you mean LibreOffice "Writer". changed summary notes.

however I've never found such issues with LibreOffice.
I suspect it's a problem of your computer.

but please try renaming your user profile and see if things change.

@reporter: if you are on the way to switch to LibreOffice you should work with a version that is recommended for production use, not a very young version like 4.1.0 (wait until 4.1.2 or 4.1.3). LibreOffice 4.0.5 is for you.
In case you encounter some difficulties in using or installing LibreOffice, please ask first for help on users mailing list or on ask.libreoffice.org. All informations for help are here: http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/

Best regards. JBF
