Critical issue - after working on three .ods spreadsheets for about half an hour LO hangs (two successive occurrences). Using os x activity monitor to cancel program in turn leads to os x finder (the file browser) hanging. Decided to restart system both times.

Hi Ralph,

I cannot confirm this problem on OS X 10.8.4, LO 4.2 master or 4.1.1.1.

Which OS X are you using? Could you see if the issue persists with the latest pre-release? http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Hi James - I am also on OS X 10.8.4. Unfortunately I'm scheduled to go to a conference and have run out of time for exploring the problem until next weekend ... perhaps your comment that this could be a local issue is correct, but I have no idea.

Ralph

Hi,
This bug was removed since I didn't have time to reproduce it. I have now been able to. It occurs when I copy two (entire) columns of the spreadsheet into several other (populated) columns, ie rather than simply choosing the appropriate 50 or so entries and copying them around, I selected and copied two complete columns these entries lay under. About a minute after pasting LO froze, following which the OS X (10.8.4) finder also froze.

Sorry for the late reply,
Ralph

Can you please provide a test document so this can be tested against and subsequently be confirmed.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks.

Please do not respond via mail! Use your browser, otherwise you'll clutter the bug with useless information.

Also before any further bug action happens: did you update to 10.9 or 10.8.5 in the meantime? Same question for LO 4.1.3.2 (which is the latest stable release).

Let's go from there. :)
