Hi Yuri, there is an option under Tools > Autocorrect > Options tab, check Ignore double spaces, you won't be able to enter extra spaces. For my case, I prefer to see all of what is in a cell, even extra spaces. I let the issue on unconfirmed until you tell us if the option is useful for you. Thank You for response. Whith this option I can't enter extra spaces, but it is not that I need. I have many works whith MS Excel documents (XLS-files created in MS Office 2003), where extra spaces used for the forced transfer of the next word to the next line. This files looks different in MS Excel and LO Cals. Hi Yuri, Using extra spaces to force wrapping is not the good way to do this, you should use Ctrl+Enter for this. So what you would like now is LibreOffice to correct the wrong way you use to do a manual break in your cell, I'm afraid it's not possible. I understand the problem you meet now with your previous sheets and I recommend you to go to the users@list, there we will help you to remove the extra space you have in your already existing sheets with a search and replace function. But please, for the next time, use Ctrl+Enter to create your line break, you won't meet any issues anymore. For now, I'm closing the bug, because LibreOffice is doing what we ask it to do. Cheers - > Sophie Hi, Sophie. Thank You for response. I thought it was a problem of compatibility with MS Office. It's not good that the documents to send me look different. I'm not sure, I think that the compatibility with MS Office is very important. But I agree with You that this is a bad way to format cells. I will try to make a macro to replace the extra spaces. Thank You for help. |
Created attachment 85480 [details] How spaces looks in LO Calc and in MS Excel Problem description: MS Excel hide spaces in cells when word wrap is switch on. In LO Calc this cells looks different. Steps to reproduce: 1. In any cell type some words separated by some spaces (10-15) 2. Switch On the word wrap for cell 3. More difference You can see if You switch text align to center/ Current behavior: all spaces after the words are interpreted as a continuation of the words. Expected behavior: excessive spaces are hidden and are only used for the forced transfer of the next word to the next line Operating System: Windows XP Version: 4.1.1.2 rc
