With 10 cm spacing above heading paragraph
Tentative explanation (Please let me know if/where I'm wrong) :
- After your step 1, the image is "anchored to paragraph"
- After your step 3, the image is encapsulated in a frame "anchored to paragraph"
- I make the assumption that you manage your lay-out through making "anchored as character", and that you did that for the current image ; Alas ! the outside frame has remained "anchored to paragraph" and the "text adaptation" to he third choice ("Renvoi dynamique à la page" in French) instead of "no adaptation"
- The spacing before the next paragraph exists, but it is behind the image+caption
"I make the assumption that you manage your lay-out through making "anchored as character", and that you did that for the current image " I did not make any specific change, I don't know what 'anchored as character" means. What must be done to make sure that the spacing before paragraph appears when an captioned image is involved right before that paragraph? Your image and the associated caption are within a frame. 1/ Make sure that there is a paragraph mark between this frame and the following title (this need special attention if your image/frame spreads over the whole page width) 2/ Make your frame "anchored as character". If you want the frame being alone in its line, put a paragraph mark just before the frame. @reporter: Please could you attach the source document, a screencopy shows the result but not the method you used to get this result. Additionally a document shows many parameters that you may be not aware of. Best regards. JBF Further investigation under LibO 4.0.0.0 beta2 on Win7. I confirm my tentative explanation in comment 2. Definitivly Not A Bug. I keep the NeddInfo status, in regard to JBF asking. The problem is that it is too ... complicated. We should not need to be a 'LibreOffice' expert to be able to use basic word processing features. So, it appears to be in fact either a conception or a default configuration issue (I never changed the frame to be "anchored as character"). In the meantime, one workaround could be to warn the user trying to change the spacing before a paragraph when there's an image/caption involved. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDINFO status with no change for at least 6 months. Please provide the requested information as soon as possible and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Due to regular bug tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDINFO status with no change in 30 days the QA team will close the bug as INVALID due to lack of needed information. For more information about our NEEDINFO policy please read the wiki located here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FDO/NEEDINFO If you have already provided the requested information, please mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED so that the QA team knows that the bug is ready to be confirmed. Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team I have refined the conditions that trigger this issue: 1) the picture must be large enough so that you don't need to insert carriage returns to have the text right after the image; for example, you can check this situation with an image edited with: Picture -> Type -> Width -> relative -> 100 %, then on the line right after the picture: Paragraph -> Indents and spacing -> Above paragraph -> some non zero value There you can verify this setting has no effect. Only other ***default options*** are set on the image. 2) the style of the text right under the image can be anything (In reply to comment #7) > The problem is that it is too ... complicated. It is not complicated to attach your test document. Please do that. Best regards. JBF Ok, I confirm the explanation by Dominique. Inserting a paragraph mark between the picture and the text does what you want. Closing as NotABug. Best regards. JBF How about spending 5 minutes on your own file trying the clear " Steps to reproduce"? Ignoring bugs won't solve them... Created attachment 102714 [details]
test document with a big height above the paragraph
I did'nt say that the reported behavior is not reproducible. Indeed I reproduce it. What I said is that it is not a bug because it works as designed: the picture is inserted in the paragraph and the picture height count in the space above the paragraph. You can verify that if you choose a height above the paragraph larger than the picture height. See the attached test document.
Closing again as NotABug.
Best regards. JBF

Problem description: ------------------- The title says it all Steps to reproduce: ------------------ 1. Insert image from file 2. Right click on the picture then enter Caption 3. Right below the caption, enter a numbered heading (not sure if numbering is absolutely necessary to reproduce the bug) 4. Right click Edit paragraph style on this heading 5.
