Screenshot of the issue: small black rectangle and "Macro selector" window in the background.

Problem description:

If the macro recording feature is disabled, hovering over the "Organize macros" menu item opens the "Macro selector" window.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure that "Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Advanced > Enable macro recording (limited)" is not ticked;
2. Open the "Tools > Macros" menu;
3. Place the cursor over the "Organize Macros" item.

Current behavior:

The "Macro selector" window opens instantaneously without clicking. The sub-menu of "Organize Macros" does not open (only a small rectangle is visible, see attachment).

Expected behavior:

The sub-menu of "Organize Macros" should open with selectable option(s), or "Organize Macros" should be greyed-out/absent if none of those options are selectable without macro recording enabled.

Note that the "Macro selector" window is normally summoned by the "Run Macro..." option, just above "Organize Macros".

I could reproduce this in both Writer and Calc.

This bug is not specific to third-level drop-down menus as I could go into "Insert > Picture > Scan" without any problem in Writer.

On a side-note, I noticed that the "Edit > Object" menu displays the same little empty rectangle as shown on the screenshot.

I updated to 4.1.2.3 and the bug disappeared.

Actually, I just came across this bug again, but this time with macro recording enabled...

are you still reproducing it constantly even with 4.1.4.2?
do you think it's the same bug as before?
Comment 4 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2014-01-14 22:58:27 UTC
I went back to 4.0.5 as there is a bug that is problematic to me in the 4.1 branch. It should be fixed in 4.5 though, so I will be able to test this shortly.
Cheers
