Base freeze while opening in kubuntu 13.10, but open correctly the same documents on the same machine in Gnome (just closing the Kubutnu session and opening it in gnome).  It was ok in kubuntu 13.04.  The bug affect all document. impossible to crate new one.

Did you report this to Kubuntu also? When it will work on the same machine with another windowmanager it seems to be a problem of the windowmanager.
Which KDE-Version do you use in Ubuntu?
Could you start LO from Konsole? Could be there appear errors for this freezing.

In fact, the kubuntu 13.10 update from 13.04 on a very old insallation (6 distribution upgrade) was a complete mess and a lot of bugs appears after my post.  I reinstalled a brand new kubuntu 13.10 and LibreOffice Base is ok now.  Sorry ofr the trouble.
