Could you please 1) Provide a list of steps for reproducing the issue you're seeing? 2) Next, change the status of the bug back from 'NEEDINFO' to 'UNCONFIRMED' Thanks! Steps to reproduce: 1.) Open the attached html file. This contains an image rendered with a data:uri. 2.) Copy the image. 3.) Open "Writer" 4.) Paste the image to writer. On each system I've tried this on, this causes Writer to freeze up. As mentioned in the original posting, if you do a google image search, the snapshots in the search are rendered with data:uri. These are smaller, so they don't appear to freeze writer, but they still do not render when pasted.
