I have two presentations open, one on each monitor. Both are shown in the slide sorter, which by default shows 4 slides per row. Now do this:

- go to slide show 1 and set that to showing 6 slides per row, then
- go to slide show 2 and set that to showing 6 slides per row, then
- click back on slide shows 1 (which will revert to only showing 4 slides/row)
- click back on slide shows 2 (which will revert to only showing 4 slides/row)

How about that setting would stick??

I think that you are describing the same issue of Bug 68304
