Created attachment 89452 [details]
A list of animal numbers which is checked when vaccinating etc

Problem description: I'm using Calc to enter numbers and then trying to sort the the column in Ascending order. If you look at the attached file, you will notice that not all the numbers are in sequence and it's frustrating trying to run through the list when the numbers are all over the place ie 1040 is near the top of the sheet yet 1041 is right near the bottom?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You are sorting a 'text' column, not 'number's.

There are several possibilities to resolve this, for example by converting the cells to numbers (but since you seem to also use some text values, I'm not sure that this is what you really want). Some additional options in the 'sort' feature might help you too.

I am setting this to NEEDINFO for now. Please use other methods for request user help such as the mailing lists, or the forums or "Ask LibreOffice".

If you think this is really a bug, please change the status from NEEDINFO back to UNCONFIRMED in your next reply. If not, please close this report as NOTABUG.

Thank you and Regards,
Ady.
