Description Meindert Sprang 2013-11-25 17:51:33 UTC
I really would like to change from M$ Office to LibreOffice but not being able to import my existing manuals (of my companies products) is a showstopper.
When I import a Word document, the descriptions underneath the images are all over the page instead of underneath the images where I placed them. Ok, I could move then back into place but part of the images (drawings) are created with OmniGraffle and these drawings are not imported properly. They are jagged and background shades are just black rectangles. Trying to cut an paste from OmniGraffle into a Writer document brings even worse drawings at very low resolution. In Word, these drawings are apparently imported (also through copy and paste) as vector drawings and they look perfectly and also scale perfectly. In Writer though, they look like being imported as screen bitmaps with terrible looks.

Is this something on the ToDo list with you guys? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Meindert,

Thanks for coming here and giving feed back!

Ah well, you can of course just migrate the documents..
But I read two problems:
 1- descriptions underneath the images
 2- import from OmniGraffle

Can you provide a simple test document for 1?
Can you provide a link / sample graphic for 2?
If so, then for one of the two pls make an new issue (one problem per issue).

regards,
Cor
