Non-debug backtrace log.

Problem description:
Under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 (Java: 1.6.0_27-b27) and Crunchbang 11 x86_64 (Java: 1.6.0_45_b06) both running v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a using the Insert > Link to External Data facility for this link:

http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU

... results in a segmentation fault (refer attached). Under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24 the data is inserted as expected. Under Windows 7 HP 64bit running v4.1.2.2 the Import Options window fails to display and no list of Available tables/ranges is shown. The same behaviour (as for Windows) has also been reported for MacOS 10.6.8 running v4.1.3.2 here:

http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/7168

These additional operating systems behaviour is provided for context only. The reported problem is the segmentation fault, although I suppose the lack of response in the other cases may be related. Resetting the user profile has no effect.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Calc.
2. Insert > Link to External Data.
3. Insert http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU in URL field.
4. Press ENTER.

Current behavior:
LO crashes with segmentation fault.

Expected behavior:
Import Options dialog displays, followed by list of Available tables/ranges.
Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.1.3.2 release

Crash reproducible for me with versions 4.2.0.0beta2+ and 4.1.5.0+ under Ubuntu 13.10 x86-64.
No crash with version 4.0.6.

Best regards. JBF

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I don't reproduce this.
However, I can reproduce this with 4.2 branch sources.
Comment 3 Kevin Suo 2014-07-12 11:19:04 UTC
With libreoffice 4.2.5.2, ubuntu 14.04 x86, I do not reproduce the segmentation fault.
However, there is no available tables/ranges shown for the link:
http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU

So I added this bug to see also.

Thanks Kevin. The same behaviour as described I can also confirm for these systems / builds:

- Debian 7 x86_64 running v4.3.0.2 Build ID: 14ed55896fdfcb93ff437b85c4f3e1923d2b1409
- Crunchbang 11 x86_64 running v4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 3fdd4f069d5436cf39708004af7fda8175fbc4c2 (2014-07-09).

I am therefore closing this bug (RESOLVED / WORKSFORME) as the segmentation fault no longer occurs. Bug 81113 now describes the main issue of the query not returning.
