When inserting any BIN/OCT/DEC/HEX 2 BIN/OCT/DEC/HEX function in LibO 4.2* all functions are inserted as:

BIN2* is inserted as BIN2OCT
OCT2* is inserted as OKT2BIN
DEC2* is inserted as DEC2BIN
HEX2* is inserted as HEX2BIN

Also when opening an existing ODS document with a containing BIN/OCT/DEC/HEX 2 BIN/OCT/DEC/HEX function it is replaced as described obove. After making a change, saving the document, and opening with an prior version (4.1.*) also all functions are replaced as described.

(Tested with 4.2.0rc1 and 4.2.0rc2 DEB from LO repository on Debian Testing.)

Hello Kü,

I don't reproduce using LO 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ nor LO 4.1.4.2 & Windows 7 Home Premium.

Kind regards,

Jacques

On pc Debian x86-64 with 4.2 sources updated 2 weeks ago, I don't reproduce this.

Could you rename your LO directory profile and give it a new try? (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
Also, what localization do you use? Could you give it a try with English localization for the test?

I did but no difference in behavior.

I did it with German as well as with English locale, same behavior.

Additive: It only occurs, if you enter two or more formulas arranged vertically in two cells with one other. In the second cell allways appears the same formula as in the one above! (The behavior above thus is incorrect!)

Thank you for your feedback Kü

Could you please attach an example file?

Another additiv: The error only occurs, if the content is left blank.
Comment 8 Julien Nabet 2014-01-22 22:01:28 UTC
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I can reproduce this.
In fact, the first formula is repeated in below cells.
I could reproduce this only by following the 2 additives:
- no parameter passed to functions
- formulas must be entered in a vertical contiguous group of cells.

So put it at NEW

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.2 or later)
   https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

   Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for your help!

The bug is not present any longer when using LO 4.4.2 for saving and LO 4.1.8 for opening.

So I closed the bug.
