I can't reproduce: - select a cell - go to Table > Border - set the top border as orange, then the bottom one as pink, press ok - both are formatted correctly - save/reopen, formatting is still correct. I'm adding a table showing the cell formatting Using Version: 4.2.0.4 Build ID: 05dceb5d363845f2cf968344d7adab8dcfb2ba71 Ubuntu 13.10 x64 Can you describe the steps to reproduce the problem you encounter or provide a document showing it. thanks Set as needinfo - Sophie Created attachment 93541 [details]
cell with different borders setting for top and bottom
You're right, different colours do work ok, but different line widths (eg 0.05pt, 1.25pt) can't. I can't send an example, because it doesn't work! Insert table into new writer document Table/Select/Cell then format top border as default, and bottom border as something much thicker. The format wizard appears to show that both are then set the same; quitting back to the table shows that; reselecting the cell and checking properties also shows that nothing took. The thinner width wins out each time. The same is true when changing the line pattern. Created attachment 93547 [details]
Table with different patterns and thickness
In the sample I provided, the two cells have different top and bottom borders: thickness, patterns, colors are different. So setting back as unconfirmed. Sophie You are right, and I modify the bug description - the problem appears to be that the wizard reverts each border back to the default when it is selected, rather than accepting the existing setting(s) for revision. If I don't try to check my work, and don't want to make small revisions from the current settings, then all's well. But examinations of the settings force me back to the default each time, so it's impossible to know what the current setting is. The RTF import is probably a completely separate problem. The table formatting wizard wasn't working properly for me on 06/02, but yesterday (07/02/14) and today is is working as expected. I cannot now reproduce the fault. Please close this report.
