On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I could reproduce the problem.
I attached console logs.

Sample rtf file makes libreoffice give i/o general error
The file is being produced by a CRM software that created RTF files.
The files can be opened in MS Word but not Libreoffice.
A similar bug was existed but fixed however there still seems some bug effecting this version.

A4_rtf_ (Ely).rtf gives me General error on Win 7 64-bit 4.3.2.2, but opens fine on today's 4.4.0.0 dev build. test.doc gives me General error both on 4.3.2.2 and dev build. Closing this as WFM. Created attachment 94680 [details] RTF file results in General Error on LibreOffice 4.2.1 Open the RTF file in attachment results "General Error.General input/output error." on Ubuntu 12.04 or Windows 7. On Windows, the same file opens fine in Microsoft Office 2010, Wordpad or OpenOffice 4.0.1.
