Export to PDF in LO writer (LO4.2.1.1, Fedora 20):

press the PDF icon a dialog box apears
I choose my folder
as the filename is highlighted, I attempt to type in a file name
the file name assumes the nearest match in the relevant folder

Expected behaviour:

I am allowed to overwrite the highlighted filename and enter a name of my choosing. I can do this by bringing the cursor to the filename window but the highlighting is misleading.

in the windows version, the filename is not highlighted. You can either choose an existing filename or skip to the filename window and enter your own choice.
The windows (XP) version of writer provides the functionality I am looking for - either I select a filename from the list or choose my own.

Pls advise if this is a bug/enhancement or whether I am making an unnecessary fuss :)

This may be related to 54306. I can't work out whether it is.

Dear Tim,

I'm running Linux Mint and Ubuntu and i dont have that same functionality. I think it maybe related to your desktop environment and not libreoffice as the open dialog is not controlled by libreoffice.

Hi Jay,

thanks for responding. I am now using 4.2.4 and I can not reproduce this problem. I haven't needed to exercise this functionality recently - I have always gone with the file name presented.

FYI I am using the cinnamon desktop under Fedora and I note your comment about the DE.

I'll play around over the next few days and, hopefully, close this with some comments.

Cheers
