I'm working on an older document. When i selected a formula to change it, the special characters (%Ux...) are no longer displayed, instead i see the code of this character. Formulas that I dont edit (not double click) stay as they should be.

your test file shows the same %Ux2112 symbol in Win7x64 using 4.1.5.3

I change platform and version fields.

status NEW

do you remember this working on older LibO releases? if yes, which one?

I can't say on which version it first appeared. But i first noticed it about half a year ago on the version distributed with ubuntu. So it might be around 4.1, but I can't say for sure.

Confirmed in 4.2.4.2 (release) on Xubuntu 14.04 as well.
Inserting special character (user-defined) from the catalog (Uppercase script L, laplace, %Ux2112) inserts %Ux2112 into the formula.

It looks like somebody else has discovered this bug. This feature worked perfectly well on previous version of this software. Now the formulas display the hex code for the special symbol and not the symbol itself. The Greek symbols still behave properly. Most of my work is math documentation so this bug has stopped my output.

Per request of QA Administrators, I retested this bug on version 5.1.6.2 and have confirmed it to be fixed. Now, inserting %Ux2112 in the formula editor displays upper-case script L (laplace).
