Created attachment 98056 [details]
Graphic of 'old' (4.0.3.3 folder) and 'new' (4.2.3.3 folder)

I updated v4.0.3.3 on Win7/64 sp1 (with updates).

The previous version (4.0.3.3) used this path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4.0

The install of 4.2.3.3 installed to a new path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4

leaving
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4.0
as is, and installing ALL of the help files into
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4.0\help

except:

idxcaption.xsl
idxcontent.xsl
main_transform.xsl

which were installed to
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4\help

I became aware of this immediately because the icon on the taskbar lost its lines, becoming only the outline, and opening the properties of the shortcut complained the folder didn't exist.

So, I manually changed the shortcut from "...4.0" to "...4"
and moved the lonely help install (minus the 3 *.xsl files as above)
to C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4,
which is almost certain to be a kluge but it make the software + help operational...so far.

My concern now, is that I'm not sure what path the future updates will be looking for.

See folder snip graphic attached.

Please advise.

For me, using 4.3.3, the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4
Have you installed 4.3.x?
If you install it without problems, you can close this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.

The computer can have hundreds of users, and it is absolutely impossible to update all the shortcuts they have managed to create.
The generalization of the install folder name was made to minimize the damage in the future.
