Works fine here - attaching document showing. Ubuntu 14.04 x64 LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 release Marking as WFM. Joel : I right-clicked on the cell and clicked on the top menu option : "Clear Direct Formatting" and THEN chose $...... Now OK : as you suggest maybe a Mageia 4 setting, but I haven't investigated further.
