Dear Bruno,

If you right-click on any of the lines while your in the number levels and select 'Bullets and Numbering...' and click on the position tab, you will find positioning details for each level, which you can adjust. Please let me know if this doesnt solve your issue.

Dear Jay,

thank you for our answer, but it seems this is not what I wanted.

My problem is that if I have few lines and I'm not using any numbering I can select all lines and then go to Format -> Paragraph and there there is a tab called "tabs" where I can select the position for the tab character.

I'm just wondering why this option is not available when I use numbering.

A workaround is to write all lines without numbering, select the tab position and leave the numbering as last step it works. I just think the order the do this should not matter.

Dear Bruno,

Well what you are describing now seems to be different then what was mentioned as being the problem. Please further explain your issue and possibly provide a sample document, so i can look into the issue further for you.

Dear Jay, sorry for the confusion.

Attached I'm sending a file. If I select all the lines the "tag" option disapears, although if I select only few lines the "tag" option is presented Format -> Paragraph.

Dear Bruno,

If you select from 1 to 3.3 the "tabs" option is there, as they all have the same position of 6.30", while 3.3.1 to 3.3.4 have the "tabs" position of 6.91". If you right-click > Bullet and Numbering > Position [tab] and click on Level 2 and set its 'align at' to 0.10, you wont be able to select from 1 to 3.3 and have the find the "tabs" option. So basically, if they have different indentations from the left, you wont be able to select them all and find "tabs" available.

Dear Jay,

that is interesting. Is this the desired behavour?
At least for me it makes quite hard to work with numbering and tabulation mark.

Any way, thank you for having a look at it.

Dear Bruno,

I'm assuming your trying to make a table of contents and if thats your intent, then you should consider doing what you are doing in a different manner, by using indexes. You can view this video for details on how to do it < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZbjtIamDlU&index=38&list=PL94682FC0D2ADF410 >.

@jmadero: @qubit: should one still have access to the "tabs" tab in paragraph properties when two lines have different indentations.

Thank you Jay,

I'm aware of the indexes, although I really need to have the chapter numbering to shown on the table of content, what I could not do, unless I type the number manually, without using numbering funcionality.

I don't know the libreoffice code, but I still didn't understand why the "tags" tab on format still needs to be disabled when multilevel numbering are selected.
