and requested in #14 there

(not sure about the version, but I hope that's not so important):


Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet (the default font is se to Liberation Sans).
2. Fill for example 15 columns and 500 rows with some numbers of texts (e.g. write something into the first row's cells and fill down).
3. Select all cells (Ctrl-A).
4. Choose another font than the current (e.g. Arial).

Expected result:
Working with the spreadsheet is as fast as before (4).

Current result:
Working with the spreadsheet is much slower and CPU load is about 20-30 % even for simple moving the cursor inside the sheet. And additionally, undoing (4) has no effect to the speed.

I can compare the speed with 4.1.x versions which are not affected by this bug and those older versions are much more faster.

it look this issue is very similar to Bug 80429 - Calc slows down when you select all cells and change font

could you retest against a recent 4.3.x build where I see that has been fixed?

another simila report is Bug 77346 - FORMATTING: Calc becomes slow after selecting cells and activating font chooser with previews enabled

(Why didn't I do that before ..)

Testing a range A1:AJ475 in 4.3.0.1 and in 4.2.5.2

hmm, wonderful. Fast there. 
(even a nice preview of the font that is highlighted in the list)

(Different issue is that Undo does not refresh, so that it looks as if setting font is not undone. This is for 4.3.0.1; is OK in 4.2.5.2
Need to look if that already is reported in BugZilla)

Starting from A1, push arrow Down to go to A475.
14 second in 3.6.6.2
Around 50 in 4.3.0.1 and 4.2.5.2 
And then after releasing my finger from the keyboard, the cursor moves on to appr. 1350.

So there is still a performance issue. But one has to recognise that it's much better then some versions earlier.
(Note that it's not a regular use case: one would do Ctrl+Down or PageDown few times in stead of keeping Down pressed. Or most users turning the mouse wheel of course ;)
Still, with lager sheets, different systems it could be a problem.
Will test that later)

I would say that is fixed (too).

In daily Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 1298c1d13572c6fbfbabb813b2d6843368c6df1f
time is down to about 20 seconds.
So this definitely got someone's much appreciated attention.

Set to fixed.
