Description bugzilla 2014-07-28 07:53:48 UTC
Created attachment 103577 [details]
.ods file that LO does not open. Any other .ods would have done.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. LibreOffice working fine. Possibly: (a) work with a LibreOffice draw document in between -- this was one instance when this happened or (b) saving spreadsheet as an .xlsx-file.
2. Original .ods nor any other .ods can load anymore. LibreOffice just hangs.
3. Creating new .ods works, saving it works, all other components work, opening previous .xlsx works.

Current behavior: Hanging upon fileopen. Both from command line as well as from menu, and for *any* .ods document.

Expected behavior: Just open file.

Had this in previous version and only solution was a reinstallation of LibreOffice! Now this happened again with 4.1.6.2 build 410m0 (Build 2).

I attach a very simple .ods file that was created with the same LO build, but like any other .ods doesn't open.

I did try to delete my profile the first time I had this problem. No change.

Operating System: openSUSE
Version: 4.1.6.2 release

why don't you try upgrading to 4.2.5.2 or incoming 4.2.6.2?
the 4.1.x branch is END-of-LIFE and is no longer maintained.
Comment 2 Tim Lloyd 2014-08-06 04:43:50 UTC
I tried this with the latest 4.3 on Fedora 20 - no problem
4.1.4 on Centos 7 - no problem

My original suggestion would have been to rename the profile but I see you have done this. Clutching at straws...do you reboot your PC often? Is it worth rebooting.

Not too sure about the message log in suse but can you have a look at /var/log/messages and see whether there is anything of interest?

No crash with LO 4.1.6.2 and 4.2.6.2 under Ubuntu 12.04 x86

In addition to Tim and Tommy suggestion, perhaps it's spesific to your system only, you could do debugging: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#GNU.2FLinux

Hi,

As others have stated, please download a modern build of LibreOffice and see if you still experience the bug (https://www.libreoffice.org/download/).

We've tried a few different times to reproduce this problem but without success, so I'm going to mark the bug as RESOLVE WORKSFORME. If you still experience the problem with a modern build, please change the status back to 'UNCONFIRMED' and we'll try to help you identify what's going wrong.

Thank you for your help,
