I was looking for a PDF editor for linux for several hours, when I stumbled upon this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_a8B0JVZJk showing that LibreOffice Draw is in fact also a PDF editor.

While searching for a PDF editor, never did I find anywhere that PDF editing is possible with Draw. Thus my first request is to make this fact publically available. People should learn about this feature, and should know that most linux distributions come with a preinstalled PDF editor. Once this becomes a more commonly known fact, question forums will also start sharing this information. I visited at least a few dozen forums where people were looking for PDF editors, and most of those forums were unsolved. Virtually nobody is aware that Draw has PDF editing capabilities. You should perhaps even change the name of the program to something like Draw&PDF.

My second request is for the development team to focus on improving the PDF editing capabilities of Draw. Currently, some PDF documents don't display properly with Draw. The formatting is messed up. Nevertheless, they can still be edited. If only all common PDF documents would open with the correct formatting in Draw, then the program could easily be advertised as a great PDF editor.

No LibreOffice Draw is not a PDF editor, it will never be a PDF editor.

LibreOffice uses Popplar with Cairo to render the content of PDFs as ODG drawings. And when exporting back out to PDF, LibreOffice uses Cairo.

Enhancements to either of those projects are incorporated into LibreOffice, but there are limitations as to the PDF standards LibreOffice is able to support, both on import filtering and on export.

Well, that sounded a bit too extreme :-) Calc is already a PDF editor; and although it’s true that we’re not focused in DTP, if you file clear, specific bug reports or enhancement requests, they will be triaged and considered individually.
