in addition to selecting / activating one of the groups in the sidebar, the same functions/tools can be invoked from the pull-down-menues (e.g. (View->)Navigator(F5), or (Tools->)Gallery) so I may have two areas/sub-windows with identical functionality

for me, this is a bug - or is it intended to be an (not yet documented) feature ??

also, in the side-bar -> properties I find a selection of things I usually invoke via Format -> Cells; this looks confusing to me.

Having a choice to 'dock' some functions/sub-windows at the left-hand border of the main window is a really interesting and valueable feature (I do very much appreciate the configurable set of sub-windows - docked or independent - in some programming environments, e.g. in Eclipse), but the side-bar as it is now is primarily confusing rather than being helpful.

Please consider to drop _this_ kind of side-bar (which I never saw/never used before) or try to advance to a kind of layout which is totally configurable, with multiple docked or independent sub-windows (i.e. 'eclipse-like'), which - I know - would not be easy to build.

Thanks a lot.

Carsten
