it works for me under Win8.1 with LO 4.3.4.1 are you sure it was not a protected PDF? What was the PDF reader you used? What is your operating system? Windows7 64 bit Adobe Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 LO 4.3.4.1 Note that CTRL-V works to paste the text, but the context menu has no paste opeion and the main menu (Edit->Paste) has it greyed out. While on the topic of paste, is there any way to do a paste without the formatting? I always have to paste into Notepad then copy from there to lose the formatting. Would be nice to have the option :) (In reply to 2460acc from comment #3) > While on the topic of paste, is there any way to do a paste without the > formatting? I always have to paste into Notepad then copy from there to lose > the formatting. Would be nice to have the option :) Use Google. Anyway, the option you look for is in the Paste Special dialog. Press Ctrl+Shift+V for quick access to it. Hi, could you attach the .pdf you used so we can try to reproduce the problem. Thanks - Sophie (In reply to sophie from comment #5) > Hi, could you attach the .pdf you used so we can try to reproduce the > problem. Thanks - Sophie Status -> NEEDINFO (please change the status back to UNCONFIRMED after you upload the test file. Thanks!) Created attachment 111770 [details]
Example pdf file
Copy a line from the pdf and try to paste into LO. You can do it with CTRL-V but not the menus.
still not confirming I can paste anything from that pdf into LibO 4.3.5.2 Created attachment 111835 [details]
Missing paste option in context menu - screenshot
I installed LO 4.3.5.2 and still have the same issue.
Just to confirm:
Win7 64 bit pro
LO 4.3.5.2
Acrobat 11.0.10
Uploaded a screenshot of trying to paste with right click.
try resetting the user profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) I confirm the "paste" item exists in my LibO 4.3.5.2 under Win8.1 x64 I renamed my profile user-old and a new one was generated. Paste is still missing from the menus. Thanks for your suggestion tho. Have you tried a different pdf reader ? No. Hi, tried with your pdf sample and was able to paste without problem from the contextual menu. I'm using a French version too. Sophie Sounds like this has been a stickler to reproduce: Summary -> (hard to repro) (In reply to 2460acc from comment #9) > Win7 64 bit pro > LO 4.3.4.1 (or 4.3.5.2) > Acrobat 11.0.10 And: French language localization Tommy/Sophie: How close are our test setups to that configuration? - Windows version: - LO Version: - PDF Viewer + version: - French language? No repro. Adobe Acrobat 11.0.1 Win 7 64-bit, LibO Version: 4.4.0.2 Build ID: a3603970151a6ae2596acd62b70112f4d376b99 Hello, Same problem here, but with 'copy source' inside the odt document itself (but also with source copy from pdf). - Select some text - Copy selection with Ctrl-C or menu Edit -> Copy The only option to paste text is Ctrl-V, no context menu option 'paste' and 'paste' and 'paste special' options grayed out in menu. If I quit LibO and reopen the same document, options and entry menu are back. Win 8.1 pro LibO 4.3.5.2 french I'm unable to give an obvious / certain way to reproduce the problem. It occurs sometimes, but perhpas it's the same problem, and this copy / paste bug isn't linked to pdf copy source. OP here. I just switched to LO 4.4 and the problem has gone away. So I guess this bug is obsolete. Thanks for all your work guys. (In reply to 2460acc from comment #18) > OP here. > > I just switched to LO 4.4 and the problem has gone away.
