Description Nick Levinson 2015-03-14 19:41:16 UTC
Some documents require specialized vocabularies that require custom dictionaries. We should be able to link a custom dictionary to some documents and not other docs. This could be done by hiding a string in the beginning of a native-format doc that identifies each custom dictionary that LibreOffice will try to open when it opens the doc (if it fails to open it, such as because it is absent or renamed, it should say so when opening the doc). If multiple docs are open, the custom dictionary should be applicable only to those docs using it, so that switching to another doc should not bypass this limitation.

I'm told this version of LibreOffice is at the end of its life (EOL) but I've since gotten an automatic update to it with Fedora 20 Linux. However, if a newer version of LibreOfice has this, that's good enough. I don't want to parallel-install it if Fedora is not sending it.

I've guessed my hardware.

Sound plausible, although...

...I'm not exactly sure how this would be implemented, especially in a sensible way. I feel like it should be something stored on the *local* machine, in the User Profile, so that if you share the document, there's no local-custom-dictionary cruft included.
