- file is not shown, only small white rectangle

probably some miscalculation of initial zoom.

As a workaround use the  "parts" view (from the menu or by sliding in the drawer from the very left).

There you should get a thumbnail of the  page and selecting that will trigger proper zoom  in the main area.
