Description marquardtb2 2015-07-18 01:31:18 UTC
For a reason unrelated, I reinstalled Libre Office 4 times and encountered the same issue: I select, besides English, the following dictionaries: French, Spanish, German. I make sure German is selected, but when I want to use it for the text, it is not checked. In the extension manager, it is there. So I remove it, install it from an .oxt file, and Libre Office still does not want to use it. It takes me 2 or 3 tries before it finally accepts it. The extension in question is 'dict-de_de-frami_2013-12-06'.

did you try doing a full uninstall first then install latest 4.4.4.3 release?
Comment 2 marquardtb2 2015-07-19 15:32:05 UTC
I wasn't reinstalling Libre Office. I was installing from scratch, on a blank disk. And this happened every single time I installed Libre Office.

Did you verify in Tools if Automatic Spell Checking is selected?
Comment 4 marquardtb2 2015-07-20 01:42:42 UTC
No, automatic spell checking is not selected. My question is: Why does it install the other dictionaries and ignores the German one?
Comment 5 Aron Budea 2016-12-04 21:03:57 UTC
Is it still the case with recent 5.1.6 or 5.2.3 versions?
Comment 6 marquardtb2 2016-12-05 05:26:29 UTC
I am on 5.1.5.2 and have not had that problem lately.
