That's because they're considered as templates in this case, so basically you're getting a new document based on this template. > Workaround is to add a .doc extension to the file. That's not just a workaround, but the right thing to do. There is no way to distinguish between a Word 97 document and a template, other than by file extension (AFAIK). So with a wrong extension, the software simply has no clue on what you're trying to do. As a general rule, you should give right extensions to files whenever possible, or you'll get bad surprises in other cases too. |
