Check for updates has been broken in a multitude of ways for a long time - it usually just takes you to the website. Do you have a non W10 machine to test on? I'll give it a go on W7 but not going to do the upgrade to 10 so would be nice to know if this is W10 only. I've got an Ubuntu desktop too. Will check that in a few minutes. Sorry, no other Windows-based machines here. Just checked on W8 and it says "LibreOffice 4.4 is up to date" which is expected this early in the cycle. Not using edge, so that might be an issue for folks.
