Description nemzag 2016-01-17 12:30:46 UTC
Hi, I asked a question contacted in ask.libreoffice.org, about how to change multiple letters AAA to this kind...

I made change, someone suggested to use « .*ZZZ.* » / « .* »...

But it is not vark‑ang wêll !

If I write this :
"iiishkaaalaaa" (.*aaa.* / ā) after first space i get this :
"iiishkālā", I need to go back and make a space again and I get this :
"īshkālā" (.*iii.* / ī), and go back again and space and I get this :
"īʃkālā" (.*sh.* / ʃ), please it is not practical

Can you please improve your tool to change all of them in one time plêase ? It is spend of time to go back and make edit manually !!!

Kanth you !!!

Us‑ing "‑" non‑breaking hyp‑en (U+2011), also pre‑vênth the auto‑cor‑rec‑ti‑ôn, please cor‑rect it plêasë, or ad‑d an op‑ti‑on (check box) in auto‑cor‑rec‑ti‑on sett‑ing to also make the change when us‑ing "‑" U+2011 !!!

Kanth you !

Any one read this please. Because no feedback.

Spamming bugzilla is not the way to get attention to your bug. I don't think you understand the scale of this project. The project has 10k+ reported bugs, we have a few dozen really active VOLUNTEER developers and an even smaller QA team (confirming bugs). Thus, things take time (and sometimes *never happen* even if a valid request).

Take a look at the bug list - some bugs have been around for years with little or no comment...please learn to accept that. If you're not willing to, then consider paying a certified developer to fix your pet bugs.

That being said - the bug report isn't clear at all. If you're struggling with the English reports I suggest going to your locale mailing list and asking for help. Furthermore, please provide much cleaner instructions - as this is what is completely in your control to help us (the saying here is "help us help you"). Marking as NEEDINFO. Once you clarify please set to UNCONFIRMED. Thank you

No by asking 5 days after your first two posts which expressly says "Because no feedback" but it had only been 5 days. Sometimes you'll go 2-3 months without feedback and that's just how it is. We ask that you not do follow up posts that don't add new information (such as "status check" or "ping" or "anyone?" or anything that isn't useful).

This is all fine - that just means that you're in the same position as virtually all of us (including most of our contributors). The result is understanding that this is a volunteer based projects, bugs are handled by volunteers based on when they want to tackle them, and because of this, it might really be never or it may be much sooner. For enhancement requests, the priority is traditionally much much lower than actual bugs. So long as you understand this then all is well.

I don't understand what info you need,
I believe that my explanation are clear,

1.
I added in Auto‑correction these (example they are lot others) :
.*aaa.* / ā
.*iii.* / ī
.*sh.* / ʃ

But I write a term like "iiishkaaalaaa", and make a space or enter, only one change is applied, and I have to get back and hit space or enter again & again, until all change are done {it is time spending}.

I'm asking all change to be done immediately in one time (space, enter)...

2.
If I write "iiishkaaalaaa‑" "‑" U+2011, and make a space or enter after "‑" any of the auto‑correction are not done, "‑" U+2011 prevent the auto‑correction.

Kanth you.

I think I understand now and this is not a bug. Closing.

Reason:
Let's say you have the following replacement table:

a -> th
b -> ra

Now if you type "ab" that is an entirely different word than "a" and "b" separately and then replaced. So if someone types "ab" they don't want thra (which would be the replacements) they actually want the word "ab".

Hi,

I don't agree with you,
yovr ex‑amplë about term are not ad‑apt‑ed pro my case,
I'm talk‑ing about multhi‑plë ".* .*" modi‑fica‑thi‑ôn,
in the same word who need multhi‑ple modi‑fica‑thi‑ôn,
and it is not varg‑ang / work‑ing wêll at all,
and it need to vung‑thi‑ôn...

If it is not a bug tʰên plêasë, ad‑d it as a vêat‑unë rê‑quest.

Also the "‑" U+2011, after a term pre‑vênth the auto‑cor‑rec‑thi‑ôn to.
Comment 10 Joel Madero 2016-01-28 19:14:22 UTC
Please go to your locale mailing list and explain what you want in your native language and have someone translate it. Unfortunately, the way you write (I'm not blaming you so don't take it personally) in English is very hard to understand.

Example:
"yovr ex‑amplë about term are not ad‑apt‑ed pro my case," --> that isn't a proper or understandable English sentence.

I'm setting this to NEEDINFO again, do not reopen it without someone translating your apparent request in understandable English.

For a list of locale mailing lists: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Local_Mailing_Lists

Again, do not reopen the issue without someone being able to clarify in understandable English what it is you are requesting.

Thanks

I vanth êvëry‑thing :)
And prô all of us...

In thë casë of this vêatë‑unë (feature) rë‑quest,
It is sim‑ple,
I ask tʰat all "AAA" "III" "UUU" "OOO" "ÊÊÊ" or êlsë,
made with ".* .*",
to be dônë in ônë timë (aftër us‑ing spacë or ên‑tër)...
And nôt need to go back and hit spacë / ên‑tër to get all modi‑fica‑thi‑ôn.

Kanth you, (be & live)

I think it would be better for you to set a single "ishkala" -> "īʃkālā" autocorrect rule instead of setting multiple mini-rules that don't work together
